Looking for Love

Every girl has a dream for her life and for most of us that dream involves meeting and falling in love with a wonderful man in hopes of becoming a wife. As Christian singles we attend church regularly and believe what the Bible says, but we sometimes struggle with the time it takes to see all of God’s promises come to fruition in our lives

Though intuitively we know that He knows all and is all powerful, we know that He has a plan for our lives and we know that His ways are not our ways, but yet and still we sometimes get to a place where we begin to look for what we believe we do not yet have.

Many of us spend a considerable amount of time looking for love in not only all the wrong places, but in all the wrong faces as well. We seek love because we want to be in a relationship but over the years our dreams have become so lofty that no man will ever be able to fulfill them.

What’s more, the love we seek from another person will never fulfill us completely. We will never find perfect love in anyone other than Christ.

Its true whatever you seek you will find. I have endured a few relationships that were a result of me getting what I wanted. However, what I wanted at the time was so superficial (i.e. cute face, nice body, etc.) and from those experiences I’ve learned that while I may know what I want, God knows what’s best for me and He knows what I need.

So I now want more of Him. I want to seek Him wholeheartedly and this song by Kari Jobe reminds me how awe-inspiring it is to seek and find true love.

This is not to suggest we do nothing. Yes we should make ourselves available for love to find us, but the one we seek should be Christ. Once we learn to really seek Christ and allow Him to be enough, He will then grant the desires of our heart.
